“I’ve been playing video games since I was 3, and I’ve always wanted to make them. I took some film production classes in high school to understand how to produce visual effects. My mom found the game design program at Richland on the Internet.
“I’ve taken one class in this program, and I’ve found it to be informative, but it doesn’t stress me out. It’s a comfortable environment to learn in. I really want to go into video game design, but I’d also consider the film industry. The more I learn, the more interested I am in conceptual design.
“Jeremy Roden is cool; he knows how to talk to people without confusing them and stressing them out. His approach is workable with a lot of different people at different levels, and he doesn’t overcomplicate the material like some teachers. You can actually learn here without being freaked out about information flying at you all at once.”
Vincent Jones stays close to the film industry by working at the concession stand at the Valley View AMC 16 movie theater. He graduated from Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland.
