Mike Ziem holds an associate degree in general science from Collin County Community College and is working on a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in molecular and cellular biology at the University of Texas at Dallas.
He has practiced EMS for 15 years and served in the U.S. Navy, where he was a corpsman assigned to a Marine artillery unit.
He teaches EMT and paramedic classes, but his “real love” is teaching the anatomy and physiology courses. He also occasionally teaches CPR and first aid at the Dallas Police Academy for UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he has served on the faculty since October 2006.
He is a member of the National Association of EMS Educators and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.
