Lead EMT Faculty

DeMoss Collins holds instructor certifications in both firefighting and emergency medical services. DeMoss began his fire and EMS career in 1990 and began instructing fire classes at Collin County Community College in 1992.

Currently a full-time firefighter/paramedic with the city of Carrollton, DeMoss obtained his paramedic certification in 1993 through UT Southwestern and his national paramedic certification in 2000.

He began teaching emergency medical services with Metrocrest Medical Services in 1995. DeMoss has served as adjunct faculty and EMT-basic coordinator/lead instructor since the Brookhaven College EMS program was founded. He is a certified instructor with the American Heart Association for BCLS, ACLS and PALS; with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians for PHTLS; and with the American Academy of Pediatrics for PEPP; as well as an advanced firefighter with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. DeMoss has also been involved in reviewing various editions of EMS textbooks.
