How to Get Started
To get started, complete the admissions process at Eastfield College.
When you meet with an academic advisor, mention your interest in Digital Imaging Technology so he or she can help you determine which courses you should take.
If you are planning to earn an associate degree or certificate in digital imaging, please note that you must complete 25 percent of your degree requirements at Eastfield College.
Courses Offered (Curriculum)
Our catalog provides detailed information about the courses we offer and the courses required for the following associate degree and certificates:
The associate degree focuses on the application of computer technology in the area of digital publishing, preparing students to work in commercial printing, electronic pre-press, multimedia publishing, desktop publishing or graphic design.
If you have a special area of interest, you can choose from certificates in 3-D animation, digital photography, electronic pre-press or multimedia. Each certificate offers hands-on work with the software, hardware and equipment used by professionals to create images or animations for Web-based publications and digital printing.
Developing Skills for Success
Digital Imaging courses include instruction in:
- Both Macintosh and PC computing skills
- Digital photography
- Digital retouch
- Digital imaging and page layout
- Digital pre-press
- Basic animation, both 2-D and 3-D
- 3-D modeling
- Basic Web design
- Professional portfolio development
- Visual and verbal communications
- Digital video editing

Classrooms are equipped with the most current Macintosh and PC computers to cross-train and develop your skills on various platforms. Our digital photography studio includes professional lighting equipment and industry-standard large- and medium-format cameras along with professional digital SLR cameras.
Students enrolling in digital photography are not required to provide their own camera; the college will furnish all equipment needed to produce professional digital prints.
Advanced students serve as professional interns or participate in a cooperative work program to gain practical job experience to prepare them for full-time employment.
