Account Manager
Blanks Printing and Imaging

“My DCCCD education provided me basic knowledge of the printing industry, along with training in the latest technology. The applications being used in today’s digital workplace are always changing, and the Digital Imaging Technology program gives up-to-date and extensive training on publishing software. The program gave me the opportunity to work in groups on live jobs; this gave me the communication skills and professionalism to work with clients at my job. As a student, I had the opportunity to see how my education in the classroom could be used in the workplace before I even graduated.

“What interested me in the program was that the tuition was extremely affordable. Also, the program provided training on many applications that I needed to learn to use in the printing industry. The best part of my DCCCD experience was the teachers, who care and are serious about their students’ getting the education needed for tomorrow’s workforce.

“After graduating, I found that it’s very competitive in the printing and graphic arts field, but having an associate degree gave me the upper hand when it came to getting hired. I would like to thank David Danforth for challenging me in the classroom — it gave me a reason to work harder.

“I recommend the Digital Imaging program to anyone who is serious about learning the printing and digital imaging field. The DIT program provides training in the latest applications needed and the opportunity to work on live jobs! By using the computer skills I learned at Eastfield College, I have created a more efficient process in the manufacturing of signage, by cutting the time to production in half and saving our company on waste and money.”

Alma D. Murr earned an associate degree in Digital Imaging Technology from Eastfield College. She manages the ad signage account for Michaels arts and crafts stores, including scheduling all printing production and overseeing the manufacturing of ad signs used for all of the company’s stores in the United States and Canada.

Her work has earned second place in page layout design at the SkillsUSA competition, formerly known as VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
