Construction Technology
North Lake College offers an A.A.S. degree and two certificates in Construction Technology:
The Construction Technology program offers a unique educational enterprise between North Lake College and Construction Education Foundation of North Texas (NTCEF) in its DFW Education Center. Located at 1401 W. Royal Lane, inside the DFW airport boundaries, the 60,000-square-foot building houses classrooms and laboratories, providing both management and skill-based education for the construction industry. The facility has been recognized as an exemplary model throughout the United States for providing construction-oriented college programs. Since its opening in September 2000, it has served more than 5,000 students.
The objective of this unique educational partnership between North Lake and the construction industry is to provide 1,300 construction companies in North Texas with trained people at all levels. Course offerings include construction management, construction technology, masonry, plumbing, commercial heating and air conditioning, and glazing.

Special Requirements
There are no special requirements to enter most of DCCCD’s construction-related programs.
Exceptions are:
- the Electrical Construction program offered at North Lake College, for which students apply to and are accepted by the North Texas Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee; and
- the Plumbing and Pipefitting Construction program offered at North Lake College, for which students apply to and are accepted by the Dallas Joint Apprenticeship Committee for the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry.
