Construction Technology Coordinator
North Lake College
A graduate of Texas State Technical College and the University of North Texas, Roger Wilson has taught construction management and construction technology courses at North Lake since the college opened in 1977. He began his construction career as a carpenter, advancing in the commercial construction industry from field engineer to construction superintendent and project manager.
During his nearly 30 years at North Lake College, he has helped the college to forge partnerships with Construction Education Foundation, Associated General Contractors and Associated Builders and Contractors. He also assisted in establishing the DFW Education Center, where more than 1,500 students learn construction skills each semester.
He has been selected twice as North Lake’s Innovator of the Year, and has been recognized by the DCCCD for his devotion of time, energy and talent to programs such as Hearts and Hammers, Future Builders of Dallas and the Exxon/Mobil Green Team. (This team combines industry support with the labor of high school students to build new houses and renovate older houses in low-income neighborhoods.) He has also been selected by the U.S. Department of Labor to receive its LIFT award for his efforts and commitment to workforce development.
