Site Base Manager
Irving I. Bock ChildCareGroup

“The Child Development program at Eastfield College enables child care teachers to grow and develop as they help the children they serve grow and develop. While working on my degree, the staff in the Child Development program helped me to stay focused and encouraged. They also made sure I was on the right track, such as knowing which classes to take and oftentimes going the extra mile to help me get into a class. Receiving my associate degree has enabled me to move up in my company and encouraged me to complete my bachelor’s degree.

“I would and do recommend the Child Development program at DCCCD institutions to any child care provider or person aspiring to become a child care provider. It helps you to be a better person, teacher and advocate for young children.”

Kriston Jackson-Jones earned an Associate in Applied Sciences Degree in Child Development from Eastfield College. She has earned the President’s Award and Above and Beyond Award from her company. In her position as Site Base Manager for ChildCareGroup, she is responsible for establishing and maintaining safety and program standards that meet or exceed all of her company’s, NAEYC, Head Start, state licensing and local requirements; managing activities in the areas of food services, education, social services, parent involvement, health, mental health and special services; ensuring building and ground maintenance and sanitation; assisting in budget development; collaborating with community agencies, corporations and groups; participating in committees; and managing center staff.
