Mountain View Program Coordinator Steve Billingslea began his CADD education and career at Mountain View when he earned his associate degree in CADD in 1989. Already employed as a sheet metal mechanic with Astro Sheet Metal, the company created the position of CADD manager for his new skills, and he built their drafting department from the ground up, initiating a number of new projects and testing procedures that reduced mistakes by using CADD software.

He worked for the company for 10 years before joining Mountain View’s faculty in 2001. Districtwide CADD curriculum chair for the past five years, he is the college’s faculty association president and was named Mountain View’s 2002 Innovator of the Year for his use of video classroom lectures. He is a member of Auto Users’ Group International (AUGI), a professional association for Autodesk products for CADD users.
