Mountain View College

Darrell Thompson currently teaches Introduction to Business and Business Law, although he has taught virtually every business course offered at Mountain View since he joined its faculty in 1972, three years after the college opened.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville and has done graduate work at the University of North Texas and the University of Texas-Brownsville. Mr. Thompson also taught eighth grade social studies in Conroe, Texas, for three years, and served as adjunct faculty at Dallas Baptist University for 12 years and Navarro College’s Waxahachie campus for seven years.

He is listed in Who’s Who in the Council for the Advancement of Experiential Learning (CALE) and for 27 years served as an off-campus evaluator for DBU, evaluating more than 10,000 portfolios of student applications to award college credit for life experience — making him one of the most experienced evaluators in the state.
