American Sign Language/Interpreting Lab Assistant
Collin County Community College
“The reason that I joined the Office Technology program was that I wanted to know more about computers, and I had office employment experience. The best thing about my DCCCD experience was the fact that my teachers were wonderful. They really had a lot of patience with me and were willing to help me when I had problems understanding some of the software.
“Taking BOSS courses at DCCCD allowed me to work in Richland College’s Disability Office, furthering my education in computers and software. Currently, I work as an assistant in the American Sign Language/Interpreting Lab at Collin County Community College, and I have found that I use my knowledge there as well.
“I really learned a lot at Richland College, but the most important thing that I learned is the fact that you’re never too old to go back to school and that you are always learning.”
