Scheduling Coordinator
Asthma and Lung Specialists, Mesquite
“I have worked for the same doctor for 10 years. I wanted to further my education but wasn’t sure as to what area I wanted to study. I knew I enjoyed working with computers and working in an office atmosphere, so when I saw that Eastfield offered an Administrative Assistant program, I knew that was the degree I wanted to work toward. I planned to get this degree to have something to fall back on when my boss retires.
“The best part of my experience at DCCCD was that I could continue to work full-time and go to night classes and also take Internet courses from home. Although I continue to work in the medical field, this degree has given me the opportunity to learn more about certain computer programs, and it even helps in certain areas in my current office position.
“Honestly, the most important thing I learned in getting my degree at Eastfield is that it is possible. No matter what your finances are or if you work full-time, you can get a great education in your field of interest and then transfer to a four-year college if desired. I would definitely recommend this program to other students because it was very informative, and the courses were challenging yet fun. If you are not sure as to exactly what field you want a career in, then BOSS will definitely get you going in the right direction because it can be used in any field out there in the workforce.”
