El Centro College Doris Phillips Wilson has taught business and management studies for the past 38 years in three of the largest community college systems in the country: Bronx Community College of the City University of New York, Olive-Harvey College of the City Colleges of Chicago, and El Centro College of the DCCCD. She has taught at El Centro for the past 28 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in business education from Texas A&M University-Prairie View and a Master of Arts in business and higher education from Teachers College of New York’s Columbia University. She received El Centro College’s Minnie Stevens Piper Award for Teaching Excellence in 2005, and also that year was named one of only 15 college and university Piper Professors in the state of Texas. She serves on numerous academic and civic committees and is a frequent lecturer and guest speaker.
