Service Manager
Frank Kent Buick Pontiac GMC Hummer, Fort Worth

“When I graduated from high school I enrolled in Emery Riddle’s aeronautics program to work on jets. After spending time at Love Field, I decided that an automotive career would better suit my ambitions. Once I enrolled in Brookhaven’s ASEP program (General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program), I couldn’t wait to be paired with a dealer, so I set out to land a job on my own.

“After classes started, I realized the program suited my learning style with lots of hands-on training and on-the-job experience. The ASEP program was tailored for working on GM vehicles, so the training was brand-specific, not just theories in general. Hands-on instruction at the college and the dealership was tailor-made to General Motors specifications. This aspect of the program is what sets it apart, because after graduation you have a working knowledge of the vehicles you will see in the field.

“The dealership-sponsored Auto Tech program not only gave me the technical skills to service all GM model cars, but just as important, the foundation I needed to move into management. Today I have a great career supervising more than 30 technicians.

“It was the best decision I could have made. The ASEP program gives an individual a strong foundation to be a successful technician in the coming years. It worked for me!”

As service manager for Frank Kent Buick Pontiac GMC Hummer in Fort Worth, Zach Perry oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations for the dealership, including vehicle service, sales on the service drive, public relations, advertising and staff. He earned an Associate in Applied Sciences degree – Dealership-Sponsored Technician in the General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP), from Brookhaven College.
