Fixed Operations Manager
Saturn of Irving

“Upon completion of a two-year vocational automotive course and high school graduation — and with great encouragement from my mother, who had a close friend whose son was enrolled in the ASEP program (General Motors Automotive Service Educational Service Program) — I enrolled at Brookhaven College. In the two years that I spent in the ASEP program, I learned not only the leadership but also the career skills necessary to advance up the ladder from skilled labor to management.

“It took less than 15 years to go from technician assistant in training to lead technician to shop foreman (in two separate locations) to my current position of Fixed Operations Manager of Saturn of Irving. During this time, I have had the privilege to mentor four fellow DCCCD ASEP program students, all of whom are working in the automotive service industry today and well on their way to successful careers.

“My success in the automotive service industry can be directly attributed to the class instruction and course counseling I received from the staff at Brookhaven College. For this, I extend my sincere thanks.”

As Fixed Operations Manager of Saturn of Irving, Charles M. Kennedy manages both the dealership’s service and parts departments; he has worked for the same company since 1992 and served in his current position since December of 2005, the year he was also voted Tech of the Year. He earned an associate degree in Brookhaven’s General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP).
