Manager
Metro Color and Supply
“My education at Eastfield was excellent. I loved how easy it was to get help from the instructors. Everybody there made sure you knew what was going on and that you understood it all. Any time I needed help, Carlos Ojeda was there to make sure I learned what I needed to learn.
“I’ve always been interested in everything having to do with cars. Now, I like working at something I’m interested in. Even though I’m a manager and deal mostly with business and the supply side of things, I’m around cars and am always learning more about how to repair and work on them. Now it’s a hobby where I’ve made a lot of friends. And my family members always have me working on their cars!
“As Auto Body students, when we went to Skills USA (Vocational Industrial Arts Clubs of America, VICA) I was surprised to find that all schools weren’t teaching what we were learning. We Eastfield students had an edge over what a lot of the other students knew because it was part of our program.”
Eden Orient manages Metro Color and Supply of Garland, supplying area auto body shops with paint and supplies and involving “lots of customer service” in addition to having to know the products. He earned a general associate degree from Mountain View College and then an associate degree in Auto Body Technology from Eastfield College in 2006.
