Philip Thomas has more than 27 years of accounting and auditing experience years in the government sector. He served as revenue auditor for the Michigan Department of Revenue for three years, auditing for income, sales, use and franchise taxes for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts; and served Dallas County in many capacities for 24 years, including computer and accounting system development, before retiring as financial officer in 2004. He began teaching accounting at Brookhaven as adjunct faculty in 1986 and became a full-time faculty member in 2005.
He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Detroit and Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees from Kerala University, India. He has completed graduate courses in accounting at the University of Texas at Dallas and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
