Becky Knickel began her accounting career practicing public accounting for 10 years at KMPG Peat Marwick in the auditing and tax departments before opening her own accounting and consulting practice. After joining Brookhaven College’s accounting faculty, she served as interim dean for the Business Studies division for three years and participated in the development of online courses. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Texas, and has completed graduate courses in educational technology at Texas A&M University.

She was named 2002 Volunteer of the Year by Helping Agencies Serving Richardson; received the PTA Life Membership Award; served as a board member and past treasurer of Vickery Learning Center; and was named Outstanding Leader, Green Angel and Outstanding Volunteer by the Texas Council of the Girl Scouts of America.

A certified public accountant (CPA), she is past president of the Dallas chapter of American Society of Women Accountants. She is also a member of the Dallas chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
