Rent Textbooks

You have a new option to save money on textbook costs — by renting textbooks instead of buying them.

Here are some of the benefits of Rent-a-Text, designed by the Follett Higher Education Group and implemented in Fall 2010:

  • You’ll save money.
  • You can highlight and take notes in books you rent.
  • You can purchase the books any time during the semester — it's up to you.
  • You can rent in campus bookstores or online. Order books online, pick them up at the bookstore and later return them to the store.
  • You can pay for rental books many ways, including use of your Higher One cards.

Not all course materials will be available through the rental program, including consumable, single-use materials, such as workbooks; bundles and packages that contain consumables that are not available separately; loose-leaf and other unbound materials; materials not durable enough for multiple use; and editions at the end of their lives.

Find your college’s Rent-a-Text program and start renting today.
