The Health Information Management program includes a two-year associate degree and a three-semester certificate.
The Health Information Management Associate in Applied Sciences Degree will train you to be a medical records technician, responsible for maintaining components of health information systems consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, accreditation and regulatory requirements. The program allows students the opportunity to bridge the gap between theory and practice as information managers in a health-care environment, providing external learning opportunities and including cooperative work experience.
The Medical Record Coder Certificate is a 37-credit-hour, three-semester program to prepare you to work as a medical records coding specialist, who assigns and sequences diseases and procedures with set classification standards and codes.
