Use these tools to collect a variety of research materials.
- Online Databases - Find Articles in Databases - To ensure that users have access to the most recent research available, DCCCD libraries subscribe to a large number of academic databases. These databases are available to DCCCD students and staff at no charge. Use this finding tool to discover which subscription databases might be good for your project. (Remote access requires DCCCD ID and PIN number.)
- Library Catalog - Find Books and Media - Look for books and videos owned by DCCCD libraries. The portability and depth of books is often just what you need. Videos can be viewed in the Media Department.
- Articles and Books - 360 Search - Search 50 databases at once. The fastest way to see what's available in the DCCCD.
- E-Books - Find E-Books in NetLibrary - Identify full-length books you can read on the computer for free. You'll need to create an account first. E-Books check out for 24 hours. (Remote access requires DCCCD ID and PIN number.)
- Magazines and Newspapers - Find E-Journals - Use Serials Solutions to identify key journals in your field, to browse through journals by subject and to determine whether a particular periodical is available to you.
- Web Sites - Search the Web - Choose from search engines designed to seek out scholarly and other high-quality Web sites.
- MLA/APA Works Cited Lists (NoodleBib) - Log into our new documentation and note-taking tool. To get started, check out this handout or watch these videos.)

Consider these when your local library doesn't have what you need:
- Book Borrowing Privileges - TexShare Card - Visit almost any academic library in Texas and borrow books. There will be a limit to the number of books you can check out and you'll be responsible for returning the book. TexShare cards must be renewed each semester.
- Books Sent to You in 2-3 Days - Intercampus loans - Our library catalog shows not only the books at your college but also those at other DCCCD colleges.This tutorial will show you how to request a book from a sister college. If you're in a hurry, you can drive to where the book is and check it out today. Non-book materials are not included in this service, except for teaching faculty.
- Books Sent to You in 2-3 Weeks - Interlibrary loans - Request an item not available anywhere in the DCCCD.
