Program Coordinator/Director and Faculty
Carole Olson has served as the program coordinator/director, as well as a full-time faculty member, of the Paralegal program since 1985. She holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Texas Tech University, a master’s degree from Southern Methodist University and a juris doctor degree from the University of Houston School of Law. She is a licensed attorney and a member of the State Bar of Texas.
In addition to teaching Paralegal classes each semester, Ms. Olson oversees various aspects of the Paralegal program for potential and current students, supervises alumni activities and maintains the program’s American Bar Association approval standards.
Ms. Olson has written numerous articles on the paralegal profession and paralegal education for local, state, regional and national publications and has also written several textbook reviews for the major textbook publishing companies. She has served as the four-state representative on the national board of directors for the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE) and continues to serve on various committees, task force groups and editorial boards for AAfPE and other professional paralegal organizations.
