Since 1990, Neal Wilson has served as the program director and training coordinator of Eastfield’s Criminal Justice Training Center, which offers Basic Peace Officer and In Service training courses.
He holds a master’s degree in higher education with an emphasis on counseling, workforce administration and secondary education from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University-Commerce); a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Abilene Christian University and a bachelor’s degree in art history from ETSU; and an associate degree from Eastfield College.
Having served three years with the Military Police of the U.S. Army, he served with the Mesquite Police Department for 11 years as a patrol officer, sergeant, lieutenant, captain and deputy chief. He has also served as the training coordinator of the North Central Texas Regional Police Academy in Arlington and as traffic safety coordinator and manager for the city of Mesquite.
Licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCLEOSE), he has also taught criminal justice courses at Tarrant County Community College, SMU, New Mexico State University, El Centro College and TCU and served as dean of evening programs at El Centro College.
