Nehal Rangnekar joined Brookhaven College in 2009 as an adjunct faculty member and has taught full time since 2013.
She holds a master’s degree in biochemistry and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, both from University of Mumbai, India. She has also completed a diploma program in computer studies from the Bureau of Information Technology Studies in India, a certificate program in Medical Assisting from El Centro College and a certificate program in Medical Coding and Billing from Collin College.
She currently teaches Medical Terminology, Medical Records Management, Computer Fundamentals, Pathophysiology, and Anatomy and Physiology for the Medical Front Office program at Brookhaven College. She is a continuing education instructor teaching Medical Front Office Management, Medical Coding and Pathophysiology for the health care division at Collin College and served as an adjunct instructor in El Centro's Medical Assisting program. She also was a Microsoft Office applications instructor in India.
She is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges. She is a certified professional coder certified by AAPC.
“Just the idea that I can make a difference in a student’s life by sharing information gives me great inspiration and motivation to continue teaching for as long as I can,” she says.
