Multimedia Technology Faculty
Richland College

Genny Espinosa served as associate dean and program director of the Multimedia Department for two years and serves as full-time faculty. She has taught at Richland College for more than 20 years, originally as a ceramics instructor and for the past 10 years as a multimedia instructor. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of North Texas. She is completing her Ed.D. in secondary and higher education at Texas A&M University-Commerce with an emphasis in educational technology. Her interest in furthering her education has extended to the study of online instruction as well as interlacing Web 2.0 elements into her teaching methods.

“I continue to have a passion for teaching, and what I am finding exciting in education at this time is the integration of new learning technologies. Technology has changed the way students learn and engage with others in the classroom. Each semester I try to integrate more student-centered instruction to hopefully motivate students to develop their own passion for life-long learning,” she says.

“My educational philosophy has emphasized assessment through hands-on projects with extensive interactivity, incorporating critical thinking solutions and artistic expression through creative problem-solving. When I hear students working and saying how much fun they are having, I know that they are engaged and are enjoying the learning process.”
