Nursing Faculty
Nursing Faculty (Position No. 060609076)
Salary: $40,000 - $46,000 based on education and experience. / 9 Months
This teaching position is to teach courses in Associate Degree Nursing program using a variety of teaching modalities in a classroom environment and perform other duties expected of a full-time faculty member as specified in the DCCCD  contract. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Must be flexible working with program demands, including teaching schedules involving day, evening or weekend and non-traditional teaching times on and off site.

  • Serving on appropriate departmental, college and district committees.

  • Participates enthusiastically in recruitment and retention activities; advises students regarding degree/certificate plans and coursework; engages in professional development activities; contributes to the department’s curriculum development efforts.
Requirements:
  • Requires professional demeanor, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and demonstrated teaching skills, writing syllabi, exams and ability to work with students of varying abilities form diverse backgrounds.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, licensed as RN in the State of Texas.
  • Three years of experience preferably in an Associate Degree Nursing program or 3 years recent hospital clinical experience.
  • One year of demonstrated teaching experience.
  • Specialty needed: Med-Surg or any of the following Med-Surg/OB, Med-Surg/Pedi or Med/Psych.
  • Familiarity with critical thinking concepts and use of computers in instruction is necessary.
