Adjunct Residential Building and Performance Technology Faculty
Adjunct Residential Building and Performance Technology Faculty (Position No. 030804019)
Salary: $41.03 / Hour, Part-time
Two part-time position in the adjunct faculty position to teach courses in the Residential Building Program using a variety of delivery methods. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Assists in the marketing of the Residential Building degrees to internal and external sources.
  • Must be flexible regarding program demands, including teaching day, evening and online courses and serving on appropriate departmental, college and district committees.
  • Participate enthusiastically in recruitment and retention activities; advise students regarding educational goals and coursework; participates in professional development activities; assist in program goal setting, planning and implementation.
  • Performs other duties expected of a full-time faculty member as specified in the DCCCD contract.

  • Successful candidate must pass a Federal Background check (includes fingerprinting and drug test).
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Air Conditioning or related field and have experience with residential energy efficiency, including blower door testing, duct blaster testing and use of Home Energy Rating System (HERS) rater software.

  • Applicant should possess a HERS rater certification or have the ability to pass the HERS exam within three months of employment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds as well as various levels of college and district staff.
  • Willingness to accommodate online, evening and nontraditional teaching schedules.
