Community Library
The new 58,000 gross square foot Community Library is the result of a unique collaboration between North Lake Community College in Irving Texas and the Irving Public Library.  North Lake College has some 12,000 registered students and an estimated seventy percent are Irving residents.  The city of Irving's population is projected to increase from 165,000 to over 182,000 by the end of year 2001.  Currently an estimated 20,211 plus people reside in the west Las Colinas portion of the city in the vicinity of North Lake College.
