Community College Aerospace Scholars is a program funded by the State of Texas and administered by NASA's Johnson Space Center. Each community college district across Texas nominates a group of 10 to 20 students interested in computer science, engineering, mathematics or science to travel together to the space center for a two-day experience providing hands-on projects. DCCCD sponsors 16 to 20 DCCCD students to participate in this program; in 2011, 47 students participated.
The Department of Outreach has a variety of outreach activities, events and programs designed to meet the needs of our community.
The DCCCD Service Learning Program offers college students an opportunity to serve at a wide variety of charitable and social agencies. Students earn college credit for their service.
