DCCCD's new online Application Tracking System launched July 7, 2011. The new system is designed to address the needs of community college recruitment and to provide state-of-the-art technology to simplify the employment process. It will replace paper applications and make applying for a job easier for job seekers and faster for hiring managers.
This system was created by PeopleAdmin Inc., an Austin firm. The firm studied employment processes at many community colleges and governmental agencies to design a specialized online employment process. PeopleAdmin discovered that many large institutions struggled with paper-intensive and time-consuming processes for delivering the credentials of job applicants to hiring supervisors. The company developed a system to simplify and improve the process.
Advantages to JOB SEEKERS include:
- View the entire job description online.
- Establish a password-protected individual file to maintain or update their online employment application.
- Search and apply for positions from any location at any time 24/7.
- Answer job-related questions developed by the hiring supervisor to determine who best meets the needs of the position.
- Send credentials to HR and/or the hiring supervisor immediately.
Advantages to HIRING MANAGERS include:
- Compose and post Notice of Vacancy requests online. (Notice of Vacancy forms can be completed from templates or from previous postings for the title.)
- Quickly view applicants’ responses to questions concerning the required education and experience for each position.
- Compose up to five additional questions about the applicant’s experience and skills. These questions can be close-ended or open-ended and may be scored and ranked.)
- Provide members of an interview team or a committee with access to the credentials of all qualified applicants online.
- View notes about applicants including if/when an applicant was contacted for an interview, accepted/declined a position, was hired, etc.
- Complete a hiring summary online at the point-of-hire.
Advantages to HR EMPLOYMENT OFFICES include:
- Collect applications online.
- Ask specific qualification questions.
- Screen candidates using computer technology.
- Route applications electronically to hiring supervisors.
- Provide applicants with updates about their job search.
