Register Now for May and Summer Credit Classes
It’s almost time to register for May and Summer credit classes!Want to earn some college credit this summer? Then get moving — it’s time to register for May and Summer credit classes.

Are you new to college? If so, plan to start the registration process early. You must complete the application, orientation, assessment and advising process before you can register for classes. (Learn more about the admissions process.)

Home for the Summer?

If you’ll be home from college for the summer, take a class at DCCCD and save big bucks! Why pay university tuition rates when you can get the same credit course at your neighborhood community college (Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, El Centro, Mountain View, North Lake or Richland) for just $117 a course?

If you already have earned credits from another college or university, here’s how to sign up to take a DCCCD summer course:

  1. Apply for admission.
  2. Have your college or university mail an official transcript to the DCCCD college you want to attend.
  3. Find the courses you want to take.
  4. Register. (See “How to Register” below.)

Make the Most of May

Are you a highly motivated student who can devote time to an intense, fast-paced program of study? Then consider enrolling in a May term course. This “minimester” lets you earn three or more credit hours in just a few weeks.

The May term class schedule is different at each college but typically lasts from mid-May through early June. May term course offerings vary by college also; subjects range from accounting, biology and business to English, medical terminology, real estate and scuba diving — to name just a few.

Choose the Summer Term That Fits Your Schedule — or Register for Both!

Chilling out by the pool may be your No. 1 goal this summer ... but it’s also a great time to earn college credit. DCCCD offers two summer terms: Summer I, which begins Monday, June 9, and Summer II, which starts Wednesday, July 9.

When to Register

  • Regular registration (open to all students) started Monday, April 21. End dates for May term registration vary by college. Summer I registration ends Sunday, June 8, and Summer II registration ends Tuesday, July 8.

How to Register

  • Register online (if you are eligible — eConnect login required) or
  • Register on campus
Note that dates and times for on-campus registration may vary by college; visit your college’s Web site for the most current information.

If you are new to DCCCD, we strongly recommend that you register in person at the college you plan to attend so you can get information about course prerequisites, the degrees we offer, the Texas Success Initiative (TSI), tuition and other important topics.

Important Notes About Registration

  • Our offices will be closed May 26 (Memorial Day) and July 4 (Independence Day), but online registration will still be available for eligible students.
  • Students with an eConnect login can plan their schedules on eConnect with Plan My Schedule, and all students can browse credit classes or search for credit classes using eConnect.
  • The May term class schedule varies by college. Summer I credit classes begin Monday, June 9, and Summer II classes start Wednesday, July 9. (See the 2007-2008 academic calendar for other important Summer term dates.)

Have questions? Contact your college’s Admissions/Registrar’s Office. We’ll be glad to help you get ready for your next learning experience.
