(Mesquite, Texas) - Eastfield College Head Basketball Coach Anthony Fletcher announced recently that three of his players have signed formal scholarship agreements with National Collegiate Athletic Association schools. Harvesters Greg Boxell, Greg Morgan and Chris Cooper have moved to the next stage in their playing careers by signing with four year universities.
Boxell, of Richardson, Texas (J.J. Pearce High School), signed with Lynn University (Sunshine State Conference) in Boca Raton, Florida. He will play forward for the Division II Fighting Knights led by Coach Scott McMillin.
Morgan, of Garland, Texas (Rowlett High School), signed with Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. He will play point guard for the Aggies under head coach Maurice Leitzke. Cameron is a member of the Division II Lone Star Conference.
In December 2006, freshman Chris Cooper signed a scholarship agreement and transferred to Nicholls State University (Division I, Southland Conference) in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Cooper played high school basketball at L.D. Bell in Hurst he will be playing the small forward position.
Coach Fletcher stated, "I am very happy for these young men. All three of these young men have made themselves marketable and recruitable. These young men have a bright future ahead of them on and off the court."
