For immediate release — April 20, 2007
(DALLAS) — Hundreds of Dallas County Community College District students will cross the stage during commencement ceremonies beginning April 29 and continuing through May. Graduates from DCCCD’s seven individually accredited colleges will hear a variety of keynote speakers and receive greetings delivered by members of the district’s board of trustees. The schedule is listed below by college, in date order.
- El Centro College
Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Southern Methodist University, Moody Coliseum, 3 p.m. DCCCD Trustee Martha Sanchez Metzger will bring official greetings from the board, and Dr. Ruth Shaw, El Centro’s fourth president, will deliver the commencement address.
- Richland College
Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5, 2007, lakeside by Guadalupe Hall, 7:30 p.m. each evening. Jerry Prater, chairman, will bring official greetings from the DCCCD Board of Trustees.
- Brookhaven College
Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Loos Field house on Spring Valley Road, Farmers Branch, 7 p.m. Trustee Bob Ferguson will bring official greetings from the board.
- Cedar Valley College
Thursday, May 10, 2007, on the soccer field, southeast of the gym, 7 p.m. Trustee Kitty Boyle will bring official greetings from the board; Dr. Wright Lassiter Jr., DCCCD’s chancellor, is the keynote speaker.
- Eastfield College
Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Mesquite Convention Center and Exhibit Hall, 1800 Rodeo Drive, Mesquite, 7:30 p.m. Trustee Charletta Compton will bring official greetings from the board; President/CEO Terry Loftis of Dallas-based Verve Communications (and also an Eastfield alumnus) is keynote speaker.
- Mountain View College
Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Jesse Owens Memorial Complex, 9191 S. Polk St., Dallas, 7 p.m. Trustee Sonny Williams will bring official greetings from the board.
- North Lake College
Thursday, May 10, 2007, at North Lake College, 7 p.m. Trustee Diana Flores will bring official greetings from the board. |
