(DALLAS) - Dallas County voters recently elected JL Sonny Williams as district 1 representative on the Dallas County Community College District’s board of trustees. Williams and current board member Charletta Compton, who ran unopposed for DCCCD’s district 7 seat, will be sworn in during the regular monthly meeting of the board on June 6.

Current DCCCD board members canvassed the votes and approved election returns during a special meeting on May 24.

Williams, a retired Minyard Food Stores executive, is president and CEO of Momentum Advertising and Communications. He also has served as a member of Dallas Baptist University’s board of trustees and has experience in consensus-building.

Compton, who is president of Rogers and Associates, Creative Productions, began serving on DCCCD’s board of trustees in May 2000. She is actively involved in a number of neighborhood associations and chambers of commerce, a long list of civic organizations and the Association of Community College Trustees.
