May Term Maximizes Learning
Are you a highly motivated student who can devote time to an intense, fast-paced program of study? Then consider enrolling in a May term course. This "minimester" lets you earn three or more credit hours in just a few weeks.
The May term class schedule is different at each college but typically lasts from mid-May through early June. May term course offerings vary by college also; subjects include ceramics, algebra, beginning golf, English and much more.
For returning students, priority registration for May term begins Tuesday, April 19, and continues through Sunday, April 24. (See the eligibility requirements for priority registration.) Regular registration begins Monday, April 25; the length of regular registration varies by college.
Be Cool: Spend Your Summer in School!
When the weather heats up, spending time in a classroom is cool. Dallas County Community Colleges offer two summer terms: Summer I, which begins June 6, and Summer II, which starts July 12. For both summer terms, priority registration for returning students begins Tuesday, April 19, and ends Sunday, April 24. (See the eligibility requirements for priority registration.) Regular registration for Summer I will be held April 25 - June 5; for Summer II, it's April 25 - July 11.
If you're new to college, plan to start the registration process early. You must complete the application, orientation, assessment and advising process before you can register for classes. (Learn more about the admissions process.)
Students with an eConnect login can plan their schedules on eConnect with Plan My Schedule, and all students can search for credit classes using eConnect.
Note that registration dates and times may vary by college; visit your college's Web site for the most current information.
