| Trustees Approve Land Purchase for Coppell Campus - June 7, 2005 Members of the board of trustees for the Dallas County Community College District unanimously approved the purchase of 35.8 acres of land in Coppell where the system will build a new education campus. The facility – which will be named the North Lake College-North Campus – is one of five education centers in DCCC’s current bond program. |
| Two DCCC Faculty Honored - July 1, 2005 Doris Wilson of El Centro College and Dr. Ken Alfers of Mountain View College were two of only 15 faculty from across the state who were designated as Piper Professors. The award recognizes well-rounded faculty members who are devoted to their profession and who have had a special impact on students and the community. |

| DCCC Wants Opinions From Business Community - July 6, 2005 The Dallas County Community College District has signed a contract with Mason Tillman Associates Ltd. to conduct a disparity study that will help DCCCD determine whether minority and women-owned businesses in the Dallas area have equal access to the system’s construction, architectural and engineering contracts. |
| DCCC Appoints New Vice Chancellor for Educational Affairs - July 29, 2005 Dr. Jesus “Jess” Carreon, chancellor of the Dallas County Community Colleges, has announced the appointment of Dr. Andrew Jones as the system’s new vice chancellor for educational affairs. Jones, who will begin work on Aug. 15 for DCCC, has served as president of the Community College of Baltimore – Catonsville since 1999. |

| DCCCD Wins Case in Texas Supreme Court - Dec. 2, 2005 The Texas Supreme Court reversed a ruling of the state’s Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, favoring the Dallas County Community College District and denying the plaintiffs any compensation from the original $12 million judgment handed down by the lower courts. |
 | DCCCD Chancellor Appoints New Eastfield College President - Dec. 6, 2005 Dr. Jesus “Jess” Carreon, chancellor of the Dallas County Community College District, announced the appointment of Carol Ann Brown as the new president of Eastfield College, following approval by the DCCCD board of trustees during its monthly meeting on Dec. 6. Brown, who currently serves as president of Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee, Wis., begins her tenure at EFC on Feb. 1, 2006. |
