September 17, 1998 — State and Private Education Systems Collaborate for Benefit of Students

(DALLAS) The Dallas County Community College District announced today the signing of an articulation agreement with DeVry Institute of Technology. The agreement, effective immediately, offers expanded educational opportunities for students enrolled at any DCCCD location.

This it a formal understanding that allows individuals with a two-year technical degree from DCCCD to pursue a bachelor's degree at DeVry with little loss of credit," said Dr Robert Aguero, vice-chancellor for educational affairs of DCCCD. "The agreement will provide direct benefits to our customers, the students."

"There is a natural synergy between the state's two-year, technical degree programs and DeVry's technology-based bachelor's degree programs," said Dr Frank Cannon, president of DeVry/lrving. "Both educational systems understand the needs of the marketplace, and include theory and practical application in their method of instruction."

The Dallas County Community College District is comprised of seven colleges located throughout Dallas County. Together the colleges enroll approximately 50,000 credit and 45,000 non-credit students per semester and employ over 2,000 full-time faculty and staff members.

DeVry/lrving offers bachelor degree programs in computer information systems, telecommunications management, electronics engineering technology, accounting, business and technical management, as well as an associate degree program in electronics. DeVry institute of Technology enrolls more than 33,000 students at location throughout North America.
