Brookhaven College administration urges theater goers to be aware that "The Laramie Project" contains strong language and adult subject matter, which may be offensive to and unsuitable for some audience members. |

| Local Volleyball Team Wins Second National Title - Nov. 16, 2005 For the second year in a row, the Brookhaven College Lady Bears volleyball team won the National Junior College Athletic Association, NJCAA, Division III national title. Brookhaven College defeated Ridgewater College, Minn., 30-25, 30-28, 28-30 and 30-25 in the championship match Nov. 12. |

| Journalism Students Win State Awards - Nov. 16, 2005 Students in the journalism program at Brookhaven College received awards in 11 categories from the Texas Community College Journalism Association for their exceptional work. The student newspaper, the Brookhaven Courier, has existed since the college opened, and the program won its first awards in 1980. Since that time, the student journalists have won awards at the state and national level. |
| Microsoft Certification Testing Site at Brookhaven College - Nov. 16, 2005Microsoft courses have been part of the curriculum in the Office Technology Department at Brookhaven College for several years, but the college has just become an official Microsoft Office Specialist, MOS, testing site for Microsoft Office 2003 software. The Microsoft Office Specialist is the official Microsoft certification for Microsoft Office programs. |

| Top-notch Child-care - July 26, 2005 The Parent/Child Study Center at Brookhaven College received its accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The center has been accredited since 1990, and now has accreditation through May 31, 2010. NAEYC accreditation holds centers to national standards of quality more rigorous than state licensing requirements in areas of teacher education, health and safety, child-to-teacher ratios and program curriculum. |
