DCCCD, West Dallas Celebrate New Campus, Groundbreaking - May 9, 2008
Dr. Wright Lassiter, DCCCD’s chancellor, shared his thoughts with representatives from DCCCD, West Dallas businesses, area chambers of commerce, city officials and neighborhood residents as they broke ground together and celebrated the construction of a new community education campus in their neighborhood.
DCCCD Colleges Set Commencement Ceremonies in May
Hundreds of Dallas County Community College District students are crossing the stage during commencement ceremonies that began May 2 and conclude this week.
DCCCD Students With Talent in Music, Art, Writing Honored - April 22, 2008
Each year, the Cecil Wallace Fordham Award in Visual Arts, the Alice Jones Berding Award in Music and the Eleanor Jones Award in Creative Writing are given to students through DCCCD’s seven colleges who excel in art, music and creative writing. Fifteen students have been recognized for their talent and skills by the DCCCD Foundation with cash awards for 2008.
DCCCD, El Centro Celebrate Grand Opening of Center for Allied Health and Nursing - May 1, 2008
The new center is the highlight of grand opening ceremonies on Thursday, May 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. The event also will include a reception for the college's new president, Dr. Paul McCarthy, who began his tenure in February.
Area DCCCD Students Chosen for NASA Program - April 15, 2008
Sixteen students from the Dallas County Community College District have been chosen to participate in NASA’s Community College Aerospace Scholars program in April.
DCCCD, BKM Offer Scholarship Award
Interested students now can apply for the 2008 Dr. Wright Lassiter Jr. BKM Scholarship, which is worth $2,500 for the academic year and covers tuition and books.

Members of the Dallas County Community College District board of trustees unanimously approved a proclamation during their regular April meeting that honored state Rep. Roberto Alonzo for his work on behalf of higher education and DCCCD.

Free DCCCD Program Presents 'Chicanas in Charge' - March 3, 2008
In honor of Women’s History Month, the Eastfield College business and fine arts division will sponsor a panel discussion with women from across the Dallas area who are featured in the book “Chicanas In Charge: Texas Women in the Public Arena.” The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Monday, March 3, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. in room 100 of the EFC Science Building.

You need to have a valid e-mail address on file in your student record to get access to eConnect, and you can use a Student NetMail account for this purpose. You can also use your Student NetMail address to communicate with instructors or classmates, or do anything else you would do with any other e-mail account.
