The Sight and Sound program, sponsored jointly by Preservation Link and El Centro College, aims to encourage educational achievement, job training and social activism among youth.
Over the course of eight weeks, participants ages 15 to 19 will research and document the history of South Dallas/Fair Park neighborhoods while working with community organizations and residents. Using the latest in digital technology, students will engage in “community asset mapping” to produce personal digital journals, community stories and public service media.
Participants in the Sight and Sound program will earn four (4) college credits through El Centro College, and will receive a stipend and education award. Participants must commit to attending the entire program to gain admission. Applications can be found on the Preservation Link Web site.
