Chancellor’s Welcome

As a visitor to the Dallas County Community College District Web site, you are a welcome part of our higher education family. When you look through these pages, you will discover that DCCCD — one of America’s premier community college districts — has celebrated over 40 years of education and service to the residents of Dallas County. As chancellor, I am privileged to lead this district and to share our accomplishments with others.

You are invited to join us as either a credit or continuing education student, whether you are 16 (in dual credit courses) or 60 (and older!) in one of our senior adult programs. More than 63,000 credit and 21,000 continuing education students are enrolled full or part time in degree or certificate programs (and other types of classes) that will help you reach your goals and lead a successful life. Our seven colleges are located conveniently throughout Dallas County, and we also offer classes in cyberspace through our distance learning programs.

DCCCD’s mission is to prepare students of all ages, from all walks of life, who represent the diversity of our community, to become productive and responsible contributors in our communities. Attending a community college will give you an opportunity to learn, serve others and live a full life, contributing to your family, your community and your country.

If you are visiting to find out more about what we do, how you can conduct business with the district or how to partner with us in programs or projects that serve our community, you will find that information on our Web site as well.

We look forward to seeing you on our college campuses and in our classrooms. I invite you to join the DCCCD family of students, faculty, staff, administrators and successful alumni who believe in the high-quality, affordable education that we offer to you and others who want to make a difference in people’s lives.

Best wishes as you plan for your future,

Dr. Wright Lassiter
