DCCCD board members are elected by the constituents in their districts to serve six-year terms. The elections for each district are staggered and conducted during even-numbered years.

2012 Appointment and Elections

Following Trustee Kitty Boyle’s retirement in October 2011, W. Wesley Jameson was appointed to fill her seat in January 2012.

Since Trustee Jameson was nominated into a trustee seat vacated by the former trustee, the law requires the district to conduct an election for Trustee District 5. As a result, Trustee District 5 will be on the May 12, 2012, ballot with Trustee Districts 1 and 7, whose terms normally expire then.

Trustee District 5 will also be up for election in May 2014, since this is the year that the term for Trustee District 5 would normally expire.
